Connect Tacoma: Safe Streets & Sidewalks Levy
Tacoma On the Go endorses the Connect Tacoma: Safe Streets & Sidewalks Levy

This levy replaces the expired Streets Initiative, providing necessary funding for streets projects throughout Tacoma. While the original Streets Initiative focused on repairing neighborhood streets, the Connect Tacoma levy package will provide funds to move forward on safety and mobility projects like safe crossings, bike infrastructure, and neighborhood traffic calming.
What we're most excited about the is commitment to tackling Tacoma's arterials, using Vision Zero data to prioritize the places where we know people are getting hurt. This package represents a transformative change in how the city thinks about safety and mobility for all, and we're excited to support it. A few more things to be excited about: this levy is at the same rate as the previous levy, so no tax increase. Plus, Tacoma's public works department does a great job of using these funds to bring in grant dollars, receiving nearly $3 of grants for every $1 of collected taxes over the course of the now expired Streets Initiative.
Tacoma On the Go is excited to support the Vote Yes campaign to help Tacoma invest in safe infrastucture for all. We encourage you get join us!
